SYR Preconference Workshop I: Demystifying Scientific Writing: Simple Techniques for Successful Manuscripts.
" To fund your research or publish your ideas you must know how to write."
B. Grace Bullock

Whether conducting research, developing innovative yoga therapy programs, or writing research grants,
your success depends upon your ability to write exceptional scholarly articles.  In this workshop you will learn
simple and effective skills including: (1) developing an organizational framework for your paper,
(2) writing an effective, dynamic Abstract, (3) developing a theoretically sound, concise and impactful Introduction,
(4) unraveling the Methods section - providing the essential ingredients for replication, (5) presenting Results and
examining strategies for interpretation, and (6) bringing it home in the Discussion - linking theory, findings, and implications.

This interactive workshop emphasizes simple and pragmatic skills to overcome some of the common myths,
misconceptions and pitfalls of scholarly manuscript writing. Participate in a dynamic and engaging process with
like-minded researchers, yoga therapists, and clinicians to improve your understanding of the scientific writing
process, and to discover your potential to contribute to the rapidly emerging field of yoga therapy.
