HOW CAN I TELL IF MY
IAYT MEMBERSHIP IS CURRENT?
Your membership expiration date is displayed as part of your profile
when you log in to the members' section of the IAYT website. Your
Membership type and expiration date are in the "Account Information"
section at the top of the page. We also print your expiration date above
your name on the address label of all our print publications.
HOW DO I RENEW MY IAYT MEMBERSHIP ONLINE?
Log in to the members' section of the IAYT website and then select
'Membership and Renewal Information' from the top menu. If you renew
early, your full year will be added to your existing renewal date.

In order to support our complementary missions, current members of the National

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRATION FEE?
Registration fee includes the Thursday afternoon Intensives (Workshops), Thursday
night welcome reception, entrance to the SYTAR 2008 main sessions, concurrent
sessions and practice
sessions, breakfasts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday; lunches on Friday and
Saturday and all refreshments served during the breaks and entrance to the exhibit
hall. The registrants also receive a
tote bag with the final program.
WHAT
DOES MY REGISTRATION NOT COVER?
Your registration does not include the Friday night social event ($50) and the private luncheons with the speakers ($50 per luncheon).
DOES
MY REGISTRATION INCLUDE THE PRICE OF MY HOTEL ROOM?

CHOOSE MY SESSIONS WHEN I REGISTER?
Yes. You will be asked to select your Intensive (Workshop) on
Thursday, practice sessions on Friday and Saturday as well as luncheons with the speakers. All the other sessions are included in your registration
fee.
CAN I CHANGE MY SELECTIONS LATER?
You can
change your selection later contingent that your new selections are available.

CAN I PURCHASE A TICKET FOR THE FRIDAY EVENING EVENT ON
SITE?
Yes. Tickets for the Friday night
event can be purchased on site for $50/person. We encourage you, however,
to register for the Friday evening event as early as possible. This
also greatly helps us with meal planning.
CAN I
PURCHASE A 'PRIVATE LUNCHEON WITH THE SPEAKERS' ON SITE?
Yes, but 'private luncheon with the speakers' are on a first come, first
serve basis. Last year these sold out well in advance. Should any tickets be available they can be purchased on site
for $50/person/luncheon. Please note, there is no charge to attend lunches with IAYT board
members or staff, but you must still register due to limited seating.

AN ATTENDEE, MAY I HANDOUT PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS FOR MY UPCOMING YOGA EVENTS?
Promotional materials may not be distributed during any
program related activities (workshops, main sessions, concurrent
sessions, practice
sessions, social events). However, complimentary tables located at the exhibit
hall will be available for promotional
materials display. Depending on the amount of material displayed, some of these
materials might be cleared each evening.
CAN I BUY
ANOTHER COPY OF THE FINAL PROGRAM AT THE MEETING?
Remaining copies will be available at the book store for purchase of $20/copy.

CAN I BRING FAMILY MEMBERS TO SOME OF THE SYTAR 2008
EVENTS? HOW MUCH EXTRA WOULD THAT COST?
People accompanying you may attend the meals and special events
of the SYTAR 2008 as an 'accompanying person'. The cost to register as an
'accompanying person' is $250 and includes: Thursday night opening and welcome reception; breakfasts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday; lunches on
Friday and Saturday; morning and afternoon coffee breaks on Friday and Saturday
and access to the exhibit hall. Not included in the 'accompanying person' pass is access to any part of the
workshops, main sessions, practices sessions, private luncheons with the speakers or the Friday evening social
event. Also not included is a SYTAR 2008 tote bag or any parking
cost.

RESEARCH PAPERS PRESENTATION
WHAT IS AN ABSTRACT, ORAL AND POSTER SESSION?
The Scientific Committee invites you to submit your
research work in the form of a short abstract (2500 characters). We welcome
scholarly research-based submissions related to any tradition or aspect of
Yoga therapy. Authors with a background in Yoga therapy, integrative health
care, and/or scientific research are all encouraged to submit.
Abstracts should include unpublished material. All submitted research papers
(abstracts) will be peer reviewed, scored and chosen on merit for oral or
poster presentation. Six abstracts will be presented at the SYTAR 2008 main
session on Saturday morning. All accepted abstracts will be published in a supplement to the International Journal of Yoga Therapy - which will be
available to all participants at the meeting.

WHAT ARE THE ROOM RATES AT

A block of rooms has been reserved for SYTAR attendees at the reduced rate of
$119/night. The special room rate of $119/night will be available until February
13th, 2008 or until the group block is sold-out. You may

WHERE CAN I FIND INFORMATION ON HOW TO GET TO THE HILTON
LAX FROM THE
LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT?
Complimentary shuttle bus pick up is available from the
Los Angeles International Airport
(LAX) and is located outside the baggage area. Look for the red sign that says
"hotel courtesy shuttle". The shuttle bus runs every 20 minutes around the
clock. It takes around 20 minutes to reach the hotel with the shuttle bus. It is
a 5 minute cab ride at approximately $10 cost.
I AM DRIVING TO THE SYTAR 2008; WHAT ABOUT PARKING AT THE
HILTON LAX?
Parking can not be validated by SYTAR at the Hilton LAX
parking structure. However, a special self parking fee of $10/day will be
available for SYTAR attendees.
WHAT IS THE WEATHER IN LOS
ANGELES IN MARCH?
The average temperature in
Los Angeles during early March is around 55 degrees Fahrenheit or 13 degrees Celsius. It is
always a good idea to dress in layers.
WHAT KIND OF CLOTHING SHOULD I PLAN ON WEARING FOR THE
SYTAR 2008?
Plan to wear comfortable Yoga clothing
for practice sessions and main sessions. It is always a good idea to dress in
layers especially in the large main session lecture rooms. Large hotels have
tendencies to keep the lecture rooms cool. In our contract with the hotel, we
have
asked the hotel to guarantee a comfortable temperature of around 70 degrees but
there is no guarantee that the hotel can meet this requirement especially if the outside
temperature is below the expected average. Daytime outdoors: sweater weather.
Nighttime outdoors: jacket weather. Plan to wear something special for the
Friday night party.
IS THE FOOD FOR THE
SYTAR 2008 VEGETARIAN FRIENDLY?
We are taking great care in assuring healthy, vegetarian ayurvedically
inspired meals. We will attempt to provide vegan selections each meal but we
cannot guarantee this. We cannot guarantee free-range products, lactose free menu items or gluten free
menu items.
DO
YOU ACCOMMODATE SPECIAL NEEDS?
The Hilton LAX is wheel chair accessible. Please contact Hilton
for details. You can also contact us to let us know how to best assure that all your special needs are met.
